Once upon a time in Detroit circa 1983, there was a young fledgling guitarist, singer, songwriter that answered an ad in a local music paper by an upstart booking agent/management company. The two forged ahead as an extremely hard working duo with a plan and goal for securing a major label record deal with a vision of rising to national prominence. A couple years of many demos and shopping ensued, getting some nibbles of interest. Upon further assesment, a decision was made to take things to the next level from home studio demos to fully produced pro studio recordings. An idea to independently put out a vinyl single was conceived. The plan was to gain some regional success via personal radio station contacts, play shows and make the major labels take notice. Released in 1987, indeed the side A song, "Livin' For The Big Time", charted into medium and some heavy rotation on a number of AOR and Top 40 Pop stations regionally. An album was in the making when unfortunately.............. things didn't fall into place as planned, one might say. Everything dissolved and life took different paths.

Fast forward to 2024-25, I had received some emails asking about how to find "Livin' For The Big Time" digitally. I really never thought about putting it out for digital consumption, but decided to put together "the album that never was" officially release it and make a retro hard copy CD as well. While technically the two songs from the single are a re-release decades later, there were many other songs that never saw the light of day. So why not put 'em out there right?.......... Resurrecting these songs from decades old analog tapes that were in all sorts of different environments was an arduous task to be sure.
